Google Adapts to Mobile Device Usage Patterns

GoogleGoogle recently made the decision to factor a website’s level of responsive design into its search engine rankings.  The change rolls out April 21, 2015. Very basically, websites that feature responsive design and mobile user-friendly features are supposed to show up higher in search rankings once the new algorithms are in place.

Several years ago, when it became apparent that responsive design was the future of web development, the Bayer Center began incorporating those techniques into its practice. Additionally, we design sites to meet or exceed Section 508 standards on website accessibility.

If you’d like to learn more about the Bayer Center’s classes, clinics or consulting services surrounding the topic of web development, contact Cindy Leonard at leonard@rmu.edu or 412-397-6007.  We offer nonprofits support at all levels – from website audits to DIY classes to complete site development.
